Welcome to the website of archaeologist Katrinka Reinhart

I am an archaeologist who works in China and northern California. My work involves field archaeology (excavation and survey) as well as lab analysis of starch residues. My current primary research involves the politics of food and ritual/religion in the early Chinese Bronze Age.

My PhD is from the Anthropology department at Stanford University. I got an MA in Anthropology and East Asian Studies at McGill University (Montreal, Quebec) and a BSc in Geology, also from McGill.

I am currently a lecturer in the Anthropology Department at San Francisco State University and an archaeologist at Stanford.
